Barboza & Jimenez Group

Sérgio Barboza Ortiz, born on March 10, 1935, in Sorocaba, has had an extraordinary journey since his youth. The son of a builder and a housewife, he began his career working various jobs, from selling milk to working as a clerk in a family grocery store. During his vacations, he explored the coast of Santos, salvaging vehicles to earn extra money.
At the age of 19, in February 1955, Sérgio left for Piedade with a friend, focusing on repairing and selling tires, taking advantage of the traffic on BR-116. In 1961, he seized the opportunity to lease a gas station, inviting friends to become partners. Located on Capitão Moraes Street in Piedade, São Paulo, the station soon became the current Sergio's Station.
Over the years, Sergio diversified his ventures, expanding into real estate. After his death in 2008, his grandson, professional racing driver Sergio Jimenez, returned from Europe to take over the family business. In 2018, he founded BJ Grupo, a company that thrives in the gas station network, lubricant distribution, fuel distribution, transportation, and import sectors.
